The Synopsis for The Incantation (2018) 720p

In this picturesque paranormal thriller, a young American girl, Lucy Bellerose (Sam Valentine), has a chance of a lifetime to visit her ancestors ominous castle in the south of France. However, things are not as they seem as she finds that her family is hiding deep, dark secrets about their nefarious past, far away from prying eyes. Unbeknownst to Lucy, the region is also home to centuries of witchcraft and occult folklore. After meeting the strident Vicar of Borley and her socially awkward Chambermaid, Mary, Lucy begins to question her place in the family. Abel Baddon, a devilishly handsome traveling salesman, (Dean Cain "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman"), tries to assuage her fears and soothe her reluctance. However, only after meeting a charming gravedigger named J.P. (Dylan Kellogg) does she begin to feel at ease. He navigates her through the twists and turns of the murky waters of her family's past, eventually uncovering shocking revelations.

The Reviews for The Incantation (2018) 720p

Well done!Reviewed byernanparedesVote: 8/10

So here is the thing. I'm not into movies that are horror/suspense much but this one was fun!

From the music and scenery (spot on) to the "Sorry Miss America" scene. THANK YOU FOR NOT MAKING IT TO DARK. My gosh, too many movies now a days are very poorly lit.

Of course the acting is going to be a bit rough around the edges but it's charming!

The ending actually surprised me. I didn't see that coming and more often than not, I usually guess what happens even before the movie hits the halfway point.

Of course opinions will be different than mine but I find a sense in charm in all of this as well as the efforts and heart but into it.

'the Incantation' or 'Dean Cain Conspires with a Daemonic 'Chinaman' to Seduce yet Another Decent Young Lady into Satanism!' AH HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!Reviewed byupthetoshyVote: 9/10

Absolutely brilliant!! If this movie was the body of Christ, Dean Cain wouldn't have to force feed it to me--I might even ask for seconds! This could easily be the most expertly executed sh**ty B-Horror flick of all time.

I honestly don't even know where to begin... I mean, WOW!! This one will keep you guessing, folks. Firstly, the French people aren't French, a nuance which serves to weave an additional thread of mystery and intrigue from the very get-go. As a matter of fact, I get the distinct impression that most of the actors aren't really even actors, which begs the question: What are they? The ONLY conclusion to be reached is that they are the real deal: True-blue, real-deal, goat-sacrificing, spell casting satanists! How chilling! There's also a random 'Chinaman' with a pitchfork! AND he's a pivotal character! I'm telling you, you HAVE to see this to believe it. The list could end here and we'd already have a 7-star production on our hands, but no! That's just the beginning. I don't want to spoil all the fun--shake all the little Easter eggs out of the devil tree, if you will--so I'm not even going to touch on the final surprise twist. But let me just say that I think a sequel might be in the works. Oh, God strike me down! Happy daaaaay!! And I haven't even mentioned the REAL icing on the cake!: a gracefully aging Dean Cain, acting with the same uncompromising mediocrity we came to know and love back in the Lois and Clark days... What more could a boy ask for!?

And you may be thinking, "Wait a minute, I thought ol' Deano was out of the feature-film game for keeps. He'd be crazy not to retire after the tour de force that was 2016's 'the Black Hole'!" And you would be right. But sometimes when a script this epic comes along you've gotta grab your glove and get back in the game--rise like the phoenix, as they say. And to all you fretty Mcfrettersons out there, don't you worry, daytime television hasn't blanched his brilliance in the slightest. Dean is a STAR, and stars gotta shine! I am giving this 9 very enthusiastic stars. It would be 9.5 if that was an option (and 10 is reserved for an ideal--that unattainable perfection that should always be striven for but can only under hyper-spectacular circumstances be met. Great films like 'the Godfather' and 'Motivational growth' come close, but even such brilliant glimpses of cinematic genius merely brush against perfection without fully achieving it).

I'd suggest watching the trailer a few times before you get started. It's good in cases like these to get yourself used to the idea that what you're seeing is not an illusion--after my first viewing I spent a whole day thinking I must have hallucinated the whole thing and had to re-watch it just to confirm I wasn't crazy. And I was glad to do so. For some, however, the trailer may be more than enough Dean to tide you over for two lifetimes. You'll never know for sure until you sample it for yourself, and I'm telling you, one taste and it'll likely hook you like some cinematic nicotine, and like a big wad of skoal, you'll probably feel the urge to spit frequently and maybe even vomit a time or two, but you'll crave it every day for the rest of your life (or at least until it gives you cancer).

It's a 'no' from meReviewed byclairesmaybinVote: 1/10

It's a B movie. I knew that and I often like B movies - sometimes they surprise you. There's a brief surprise at the end that took all of a second to register and then it was " of course". So not really a surprise at all. Really bad acting, although I wasn't sure if this was deliberate on the part of the director - certainly I've seen Dean Cain do better. So I'm not sure what the director was going for. But the whole thing was a mess, including the 'story' line.
